Singapore

For a ‘city-state’ only 2/3 the size of New York City, Singapore is full to the brim with experiences that have enabled it to go well beyond its reputation as the main Asian stopover city.

Singapore is a melting pot for the region, bringing together not just the cultures of its original inhabitants, but all those who’ve made homes there over the years. Now, in addition to being able to sample amazing local foods, it’s also been able to assemble an array of high-class international cuisine that is worth a visit in its own right. The same is true in many aspects of Singapore life, with designers, architecture and shopping featuring not just the finest names from around the world, but also a local industry that is thriving.

So, whether it’s sampling local fare in Little India or a hawker market, shopping your wallet away at the massive number of mall and street shopping options, or simply dropping into Raffles for high tea or a Singapore Sling, you’ve got days of entertainment up your sleeve. Add in the obligatory drink/swim at the new Singapore mecca, the Marina Bay Sands, and you’re destined to make this more than just a stopover destination in the future as well.
